Reniteo is more than a winery—it’s the story of a bold life change, a domain reborn and a grand terroir reimagined.

A lifelong wine enthusiast, David Michelis transitioned from the arts world to wine-growing, encouraged by Rhône legend Yves Cuilleron.

Settling on the granite slopes of the Côte Roannaise, he took over 10 hectares of vines and introduced his vision, planting Serine (a Rhône Syrah clone from Cuilleron) and Chenin Blanc alongside the local Gamay Saint-Romain and elegant Chardonnay.

Granite soils, elevated vineyards, and his hands-on approach create wines with remarkable freshness and a salty edge—qualities rarely seen in this region.

In just a few vintages, David’s wines have risen to the top, gracing the menus of France’s finest restaurants. 

His style nods to the Rhône while setting its own distinct course, pushing beyond the limits of the Côte Roannaise.
